Ryan Hogan, TETRA Systems Programmer/Analyst I
Ryan is a graduate of St. John’s University with a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Computer Science, focusing on Machine Learning. During his graduate year, Ryan’s paper “Alzheimer’s Detection through 3D Convolutional Neural Networks” was published in the Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society’s (FLAIRS) 2021 journal. Ryan was also a member of the St. John’s University baseball team. At ARGO, he worked as a systems analyst developing pipelines for MRI processing and statistical analysis. Outside of work, he enjoys playing video games, golfing, and playing the piano. He now works at Carnegie Robotics.
Molly Appezzato, Research Specialist
Molly is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Natural Science. She started working for ARGO in 2018 as a student, and is now a full-time research specialist. She works directly with participants on several research studies including MYHAT 7T, Rembrandt, TINA, FINA, and PALS studies. She focuses on recruitment for studies, consenting participants, collecting data, and conducting full participant visits and MRI scans. In her free time, she fosters puppies and cats, reads, tries to find good pizza in Pittsburgh, and visits her friends and family in New Jersey.
Mihika Nepal, Research Specialist
Mihika is an International Medical Graduate from Nepal. She has an interest in the field of Psychiatry and has been working at ARGO assisting with the FINA study. When taking a break from studying, she is learning how to cook at least one Nepali dish every evening from her mom and grandmother via FaceTime.
Natalie Karter, Research Specialist
Natalie graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. At ARGO, she is working on Predict TMS, a study that is investigating how certain neural markers can potentially anticipate how effective TMS treatment will be in alleviating depression symptoms. Outside of research, she enjoys making and listening to music, hiking and going on long walks, and watching Netflix/Hulu.
Erica Tamburo, Lead Systems Programmer/Analyst
In 2003, Erica received her Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh where she concentrated in Biosignals and Imaging, minored in Electrical Engineering and worked as an RF technician for the MR Research Center. In 2008 she completed her Master’s degree in Bioengineering with a concentration in Rehabilitation Engineering and Human Movement; the focus of her research was accessible exercise equipment design and the physiological affects of the new technology on the physiology of wheelchair users. In 2010 she completed her Master?s degree in Rehabilitation Science and Technology and continued to focus on exercise physiology in addition to upper extremity wheelchair biomechanics and the effects of repetitive movements on the upper extremity musculature and tendons. In 2010 she returned her focus to imaging research and joined the Geriatric Neuroimaging Laboratory. Her current interests include data management, Filemaker database design, image analysis pipeline development and workflow optimization.
Payton Chi, TETRA Systems Programmer/Analyst I
Payton graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2022, where he studied Computational Neuroscience. There, he learned programming skills, as well as statistical methods on how to understand and analyze data. In his free time, Payton enjoys rock climbing and working out.
Payton has graduated from the Tetra team and now works at Moody’s Analytics in New York City.
